What is
'Advanced Ultrasonics'?

Advanced Ultrasonic Cleaning from Alphasonics is a wholly flexible technology framework, that can be as gentle or as aggressive, as required based on the task at hand.

At Alphasonics, our ultrasonic cleaning technology has been specifically designed to provide optimum results in the cleaning of delicate items on a regular basis or items that require the highest level of consistent cleanliness.

Our precision ultrasonic cleaning systems can remove microscopic contaminants such as ink coating or varnish residues and contamination to minimal levels.  This positively impacts productivity, reduces downtime and in turn has a profitable impact on a company’s bottom line.  We can even show this impact on profit with a simple return on investment calculation prior to purchase.

Applying high frequency sound to a vessel of fluid causes the process of cavitation. With thousands of flexures per second to the radiating face of the tank, millions of vacuum chambers (or bubbles) then rise into the fluid and before implode near or against the submerged component.   Contamination is sucked away through the formation of a micro-jet, resulting in a strenuous cleaning action.

Our differentiating factor is the incredibly even distribution of sound in fluid. Across the length and width of our cleaning tanks, the difference of ultrasonic intensity can be measured as only 1.5millivolts, thus making it the most effective and safest system available for the cleaning of delicate items such as anilox rolls.

Enhancing the above process are a series of patented features, exclusive to Alphasonics equipment. Active Cavitation assists with shortening cleaning times by increasing the number of chemical reactions within the fluid, while Betasound produces an impressively even distribution by using two ultrasonic frequencies in tandem. These advanced technologies enable us to offer our written guarantees relating to performance and anilox roll safety.

These representational sketches shows how different frequencies produce different sizes of vacuum cavities. Low frequencies produce larger cavities (fig.1), whereas high frequencies produce smaller cavities (fig.2), when the power input remains constant.

Cleaning ability and safety are further enhanced by altering the power level or watts per litre between high and low frequency settings. The factory settings are high frequency/low power and low frequency/high power. The low frequency setting is generally used to initially clean the contaminated component and the high frequency setting is used to regularly maintain cleanliness.

We produce high quality, affordable advanced ultrasonic cleaning systems, designed and manufactured to suit your specific needs and just as importantly, your budget.
